#ColourTogether

Image
We may be out of lockdown, but I'm sure there are still many who are shielding or keeping indoors (especially when the weather is so miserable). For those who want an art and history fix, or for those in need of mindful relaxation, you can colour our collections by downloading a free colouring pack from the Together Trust website here .

It's all go here at Together Trust HQ as we prepare to celebrate our 150th anniversary! Thanks to a generous grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund , Together Trust has been awarded an astounding £99,200 to make 2020 a memorable year in which we celebrate our past, present and future with 'The Ever Open Door - 150 years of Together Trust' project.

The archives of the Remand Home

We’ve spoken before on this blog about the Remand Home that was set up in 1910 as part of the Children’s Shelter on Chatham Street. The archives reveal separate admission books for the Remand Home from this date, although magistrates were using other homes belonging to the charity from 1896 to house boys who had been convicted of a crime. It’s been a very busy time at the Together Trust Archives over the last few months. Consequently our blog has been sadly neglected but it’s time to remedy that and let you know what we’ve been up to. Over the next few weeks we’ll be blogging about our Heritage Lottery funded Young Roots project – ‘Deep Pockets and Dirty Faces ’ and show some of the activities we’ve been involved in since the project began in January. It’s been a really exciting and revealing time for some of our pupils as they start to delve into the history of the Together Trust . Private Trust performance, November 2014

Family history

Family history is the systematic narrative and research of past events relating to a specific family, or specific families. Are any of these children one of your ancestors?

Where does the time go?

I realised today that Sunday is a special day - our very own archive blog will be one year old! Twelve whole months have gone by where every week (well... almost!) we have been bringing you the stories, facts and photographs of the Together Trust’s glorious history . The blog has allowed us to bring some of our treasures to a much larger audience and taught us a few things on the way.
