Lifeboat Saturday

On Saturday 10 th October 1891, the first ever street collection for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) was held in a place you would not typically associate with the sea – Manchester. The inland city of Manchester may be known for its Ship Canal, but residents were moved to support the families of the 27 RNLI lifeboatmen, from St Anne's and Southport, who lost their lives  rescuing crew members from the sunken vessel, Mexico,  some five years earlier .

We’re celebrating our 96 th Together Trust Family Fun Day tomorrow here on our Cheadle campus on Schools Hill. As always, we’ll be welcoming ‘Graham Fisher's International It’s a Knockout’ , as well as having a funfair, stalls and a cafe.   IAKO team, 2016 The festival remains a celebration of the Together Trust as well as a way of raising money for the charity. Throughout the years, the event has always been seen as a way of bringing the community together and introducing the public to the work being completed in the different services. It’s that time of the year again when we open our gates and welcome everyone to our 94th Cheadle Festival . Over the years it has been called the Belmont Garden Fete and the Bethesda Festival , but however it is known it still aims to create a fun day out to the local community. Ticket from 1939

As a result of our recent Cheadle Festival the Together Trust raised a well-earned £14,000 . These are vital funds towards the charity’s services providing much needed holidays, equipment and activities for the children, young people and adults we serve.
