As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door”.`

“I’ve slept in the haunted bedroom. Oh golly!
She has this hood. And she comes in.
I was frightened to death.”
- Resident on Belmont Estate, 1929 – 1942
Various residents and staff members who lived in the homes on the Belmont Estate have told of ghostly goings on. Belmont House (which is no longer owned by the Together Trust) was constructed around the 1800s and has accommodated many different people through the years.
Of course the memories of the ‘Belmont ghost’ vary between individuals. Some remember hearing the laughter of children, when the building was no longer used to house young people, whilst others saw apparitions wandering through the house.
